sales rep and their words

how funny some sales reps try their best to sell their products!

last evening, after settling our stuffs for warranty and collection of passport, we went to funan, and when we were looking arnd for some hard drives for our macs, we found this seagate 500GB going for only $69. so we went to ask the if is compatible for mac, the sales rep says no, but they have a $89 version for 500GB for both mac & pc

so we asked why, and he kept on saying that the $89 version has usb 3.0 enable, so transfers data faster yada-yada. so i threw him a glance and he blurped out, “in the future mac will also have usb 3.0, so no problem”

so i told him, “mac has thunderbolt!”

and he replied, “but they will be using usb 4.0 in the future”

how funny is it that an electronic sales representative with such limited tech-know-how saying some so loosely formed words!

1. mac is currently using Thunderbolt, an I/O thats almost twice much faster than usb 3.0

2. there isnt even a usb 4.0 in our distant future, considering that usb 3.0 is just naturing

3. and why the hell would apple move down from Thunderbolt to usb 3.0? when you considered that they have spent so much fund and time with Intel on LightPeak technology which is dubbed “Thunderbolt” by apple!

so i wonder, why should we listen to all our sales reps, especially when they dont even know the basics of what they are selling!
